New Senate Term Begins for Sen. Mike Regan

HARRISBURG (Jan. 3, 2017) Surrounded by his wife Fran and four children, Sen. Mike Regan (R-31) took the oath of office to be sworn in as the new senator representing parts of Cumberland and York Counties.

Regan, a former U.S. Marshal who also served in the state House of Representatives from 2012 to 2016, said this day is “for me, a celebration of the many hard-working people who stood behind me, and a humbling reminder of the responsibility I have been entrusted with, to be the voice of the district in the state Senate.  It is a task I take very seriously, and one I am eager and excited to tackle.”

He said he looks forward to continuing his work on criminal justice issues, welfare reform, jobs and the economy, Pennsylvania’s opioid epidemic, and the state budget.

“It is such an extraordinary honor to formally begin serving the citizens of my district,” said Regan, who was one of six new senators and 19 returning senators to be sworn in today.  “I am determined to continue to earn their trust in me, and to do my best every single day to represent their needs and interests.”
