Senator Regan Announces $2.4 Million in State Funding for Children’s Lake in Boiling Springs

(CAMP HILL) – Children’s Lake in Boiling Springs will receive $2.4 million in state funding for repairs associated with a structurally deficient dam and other improvements to the lake.

Owned by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, Children’s Lake, is a popular destination amongst residents of central Pennsylvania and many community events are held there throughout the year. It feeds into the world renowned Yellow Breaches Creek and into the Susquehanna River.

“Children’s Lake is a family gathering spot and a landmark along the Appalachian Trail. It is one of the true gems in Cumberland County and this funding from the Commonwealth will preserve its integrity and beauty for generations to come,” said Regan.

It is expected that the planning and engineering will be completed by the end of 2018, with construction beginning in 2019.

“The effort to ‘Save the Lake’ has been a prime example of what the public and private sector can do together when they work in unison,” Regan noted.
