REGAN ANNOUNCES VETERAN OUTREACH SERVICES AVAILABLE IN DISTRICT OFFICE

HARRISBURG – As part of his continuing efforts to help and honor local veterans and their families, Senator Mike Regan will host John Chiodi, a VFW Department Service Officer, once a month in his Camp Hill district office starting on Thursday, February 21st and occurring the third Thursday of each month.

Veterans Service Officers, which are funded through the Department of Military & Veterans Affairs, are instrumental in meeting with veterans one-on-one and assisting them in applying for state and federal benefits, particularly through the VA.

“Pennsylvania has nearly 800,000 veterans and getting them connected to the benefits and services that they have earned has proven challenging,” said Sen. Regan, Chairman of the Senate Veterans and Emergency Preparedness Committee.  “As such, I am very pleased to be able to offer this service out of my office.”

Areas in which the Veterans Service Officer can help include:

*   Compensation and pension claims

*   Education benefits

*   Enrollment in the VA health care system

*   Burial and survivor benefits

*   State benefits

*   Military personnel and medical records

Veterans may contact Senator Regan’s Office at 717-975-1985 to schedule a meeting with the Veterans Service Officer.  Senator Regan’s Camp Hill Office is located at 2151 Market Street, Camp Hill, and is open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
