Media Advisory – Senator Regan, Congressman Perry to Lead Roundtable Discussion on Veterans Suicide

State Senator Mike Regan (R-Cumberland/York) and U.S. Representative Scott Perry (R-PA-10, Cumberland/Dauphin/York) will host a Roundtable Discussion regarding the issue of Veterans Suicide at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, July 15 at the American Legion, PA Department Headquarters.  They will be joined by federal, state and county officials, including:

  • John Lucas, Lebanon Veterans Affairs Medical Center
  • Adjutant General Anthony Carrelli, Pennsylvania Department of Military & Veterans Affairs
  • Secretary Teresa Miller, Pennsylvania Department of Human Services
  • Terry Gendron, York County Director of Veterans Affairs

Additional staff from the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services and Pennsylvania Department of Military & Veterans Affairs along with representatives of the American Legion, Bethesda Mission, Just for Today Veterans Recovery Services, Mission 22, Pennsylvania National Guards Association, Pennsylvania War Veterans Council and Prevent Suicide Pennsylvania will also participate. 

The group will discuss federal, state, and local efforts to combat Veterans Suicide and how best to enhance coordination moving forward.  This is the first of several Roundtable Discussions that Senator Regan plans to hold in his capacity as Chairman of the Senate Veterans Affairs & Emergency Preparedness Committee.

WHAT: Roundtable Discussion on the issue of Veterans Suicide featuring public officials and area organizations.  The event is free and open to the public.
