Regan Appointed Chairman of Senate Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee

HARRISBURG – Today Senator Mike Regan (R-31, Cumberland and York Counties) was appointed by Senate President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati to serve as Chairman of the Senate Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee for the 2019-2020 legislative session.

“I have been looking forward to the opportunity of having a larger role in the legislative process as a Committee Chairman,” said Regan. “To be able to do that in the capacity of the Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee is an honor. Cumberland and York Counties have a large percentage of men and women who have proudly worn the uniform. I’ve been exposed to many of the issues facing these men and women while serving as a member of both the House and Senate Veterans Affairs Committees.”

Regan has more than two decades of law enforcement and public safety experience having served as a US Marshal for 23 years before retiring in 2011.

“As Chairman, I’m eager to enhance the Emergency Preparedness side of the committee to ensure that the Commonwealth is doing everything possible to protect the residents of Pennsylvania. I’ve learned and experienced a lot during my time as a US Marshal and there isn’t a more important role of government than protecting its citizenry. I’m ready to work with my fellow legislators, constituents, and residents across the state who serve and protect our commonwealth, our nation, and our communities,” said Regan.
