CAMP HILL, PA – The School Safety and Security Committee within the PA Commission on Crime and Delinquency approved over $1,400,000 in grants this week to 31st Senatorial District school districts in Cumberland and York Counties, according to Senator Mike Regan.
The following School Districts will receive the subsequent awards:
- Big Spring SD $ 72,552
- Camp Hill SD $ 40,917
- Carlisle Area SD $ 158,145
- Cumberland Valley SD $ 299,567
- East Pennsboro SD $ 77,900
- Mechanicsburg SD $ 139,463
- South Middleton SD $ 63,188
- Dover Area SD $ 103,636
- Northern York SD $ 100,756
- Spring Grove Area SD $ 123,477
- West Shore SD $ 234,829
“The safety and security of our children and educators is paramount. These grant funds should help school districts with resources while battling COVID-19,” Regan said.
Eligible uses for the funding include the purchase of cleaning and sanitizing products; training and professional development of staff on sanitation and minimizing the spread of infectious diseases; equipment purchases; modifying existing areas to support appropriate social distancing of students and staff; providing mental health services and supports; purchasing educational technology for distance learning; and other health and safety programs, items or services necessary to address the COVID-19 disaster emergency.
