Regan Joins Groundbreaking at Children’s Lake in Boiling Springs

I was honored to join the groundbreaking this morning for the restoration work at Children’s Lake in Boiling Springs.  The lake will close for approximately one year while the entire lake is restored.  This project is a testament of how a community came together to “Save the Lake” and ensure children and adults will enjoy it for generations. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the PA Fish and Boat Commission to secure the funds necessary to complete the restoration and look forward to seeing so many people enjoying the lake again one day soon.

Regan Celebrates Upper Allen Mechanicsburg 8U World Series Champions at Parade

The Upper Allen Mechanicsburg 8U baseball team are World Series champions! I enjoyed congratulating these talented players and their coaches and families at their championship parade at Fisher Park last Friday. I presented each player with a plaque from the Senate recognizing them for their outstanding championship effort. With many years ahead of them, I look forward to seeing what this young team can continue accomplishing together.

Regan attends Corvette Show in Carlisle

Corvettes at Carlisle is such a neat experience year in and year out, and I was honored to attend this year’s show and participate as a judge. I selected this 1958 Chevrolet Corvette as my judge’s pick.

Agriculture and Youth Grant Program Applications Being Accepted

For every four farmers in Pennsylvania over the age of 65 in 2019, only one was under 35. The Agriculture and Youth Grant Program aims to address the looming workforce deficit the industry is expected to face in coming years.

The program provides direct grants of up to $7,500 and matching grants of up to $25,000 to support projects, programs and equipment purchases by youth-run organizations, and those with programs that benefit youth or promote development in agriculture, community leadership, vocational training and peer fellowship. Past funded projects include workforce development programs, seminars and field trips, agricultural safety training, capital projects and equipment purchases aimed at leading students to opportunities in agriculture and building the future workforce that Pennsylvania’s agriculture industry needs to succeed.

Applications for these grants will be accepted through Sept. 30. You can find guidelines and application details here.

Free Webinars Help New Hunters Enjoy this Pennsylvania Tradition

The Pennsylvania Game Commission is hosting free webinars allowing new hunters to ask questions of biologists, game wardens and experienced hunters about the best, safest ways to participate in this Pennsylvania tradition.
